Welcome to our new blog series – Behind the MoneyPlus People.

This series will be a place for us to share the incredible work our MoneyPlus people do every day, and to celebrate how these wins are positively impacting our customers.

Last week, one of our Account Managers, Paula Dodd received an emotional letter and thank you card from a customer she has been supporting on their debt journey.

We asked Paula a few questions about her role at MoneyPlus and her relationship with our customers.

Q: Can you tell us about your role at MoneyPlus?

“I started working for MoneyPlus in 2017 and I’ve had several roles within the company. My career started in financial planning, but I have also worked in the specialist care team and been in a Team Leader role.

Currently, I am an Account Manager and love talking to our customers, supporting them with their finances. As an Account Manager, I complete reviews with our existing customers, offer debt advice to them and ensure that they are on the best solution. Most importantly I want to make sure their payment is affordable.”

Q: What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

“Every customer is different, and I must approach every interaction with an open mind. Understandably, finances are an emotive subject, so I like putting people’s minds at ease and being my true self in every interaction I have with our customers.

No-one likes speaking to a ‘stranger’ about their finances, let alone explaining how they have gotten into debt in the first place. I like to make sure that each of my calls are personal. This will make the customer feel at ease which in turn makes the whole process more comfortable.”

Q: How does it feel to receive letters and thank you cards from customers whose lives you’ve impacted through your work?

“Getting feedback from our customers is fantastic, I love getting letters and cards from customers and I’ve kept every one.

As selfish as it sounds, I feel like I am doing my job right. Just for those short minutes of talking on the phone, I have helped people enough for them to think about it afterwards in a nice way.”

Q: What’s one thing you’d tell customers who are nervous to reach out for debt help?

“You have nothing to be ashamed of or worried about. No-one is going to think poorly of you when life has gotten in your way. The sooner you reach out and talk about it, the sooner you can move on.”

Thank you Paula for always championing our values and for making MoneyPlus a safe place for so many customers.
